Calafia

One night a few weeks ago, my husband and I were stumbling around looking for a quick bite to eat and found our way to Calafia. It was such a nice surprise to find this great little restaurant in an otherwise unassuming shopping center. (I had a fantastic spicy chicken burger with tomato jam and avocado!) What initially drew us in was the unique decor. I loved the repurposed milk bottle chandelier and dairy jug lamps. Overall, it was a really cozy place to eat. It wasn't until I looked up the restaurant that I found out it is owned by Charlie Ayers, who wrote the cookbook Food 2.0, which is full of interesting, fun recipes. I really love the 'slow food served fast' concept behind Calafia, and we'll definitely be back. So, if you're ever in Palo Alto...
