I can't remember how many times my mom has said, "You are your father's daughter", usually in reference to our huge sweet tooth and ability to polish off a plate of cookies. It seemed fitting then, that the first recipe I tried from Gwyneth's My Father's Daughter were these fantastic cookies. They're made with barley flour and almonds (I substituted almond flour because I had some in the pantry) and really are a perfect cookie.
I don't buy many cookbooks but this one was definitely a good purchase. I also made the macaroni and cheese (with tomato sauce) and vegetarian chili this week; both delicious. It's a great cookbook for families.
