When you hear the words 'kitchen garden', you likely think immediately of tomatoes, herbs, zucchini, beans and all of the other things you can grow to eat from your kitchen. There are some though, for whom the words literally mean to garden from your kitchen. As soon as I read a bit about this idea in Garden Anywhere, I knew I wanted to give it a try and I'm finally starting my own kitchen garden.
After eating a delicious, ripe avocado the other day, I saved the pit, pricked it with three toothpicks and placed it in a jar full of water. The jar is now sitting in a warm, sunny spot and I'm watching to see what happens.
Hopefully my avocado plant will look as good as this one someday. Now, what to try next...
